La inflamaci\u00f3n es una respuesta normal al principio, pero se considera inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica cuando persiste durante m\u00e1s tiempo del que tarda una lesi\u00f3n en sanar. La inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica puede causar muchos problemas, incluidos dolor, rigidez y lesiones en las articulaciones. La inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica puede ocurrir dentro de las propias articulaciones o estar presente tambi\u00e9n en el resto del cuerpo.
